Sarah Villegas__In 1996, a crowd of nearly 60,000 attended Carman's Georgia Dome concert, making history as the largest Christian music concert held by a solo artist in Atlanta to date.
As a part of Carman's R.I.O.T. (Righteous Invasion of Truth) Tour, crowds for the Georgia Dome show lined up as early as Noon for the 8 p.m. event.
The event drew extensive national and local media, as Carman interviewed with CBS's 48 Hours, CNN's Weekend Headline News, Good Day Atlanta (Fox), Cashbox, and Atlanta's NBC affiliate Noon show.
Atlanta showed their appreciation to Carman during the concert when Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell presented Carman with a plaque declaring Oct. 19 "Carman Day" in Atlanta.
Michael Lederer__I remember when a friend of mine told me that Carman was diagnosed with cancer. He continued to go strong with concerts until he just no longer do it. I was amazed that this was how he chose to live his final chapter. I am sure that he has a wonderful home in heaven.
